Reflection

1) Did this course meet your expectations?

The course, Educational Technology, has met my expectation in every way possible. As a class, we have learned how integration takes place within technology and education. It was awesome how we have obtained new skills and knowledge to incorporate technology within education. It was an inspiration having the time to gain new insights as to making the learning enjoyable, meaningful, and fun. This is what I call making the learning memorable in every way possible for students to retain the information.

2) Why do you think this course should be required for all ED majors?

This course should be required for all ED majors so that they could gain insightful knowledge and skills in connecting technology within their classroom. With the use of webquest, teachers can create fun activities for their students to gain knowledge of modern technology. Or they could have different guest speaker for all over the world to present knowledge about their culture, country, and etc… As we all know not all students are fortunate to access technology at home, so as future teachers we are there to make it possible for every student to explore the global world that is advancing in technology. Educational Technology gives new information of the growing world around us, resources to access worksheets to create and use within the classroom, and a lot more. It is a great course that should be continued for all future teachers.

3) How will you implement technology into your future classroom?

I will implement technology into my future classroom in every way possible. We could create activities all most like a scavenger hunt online for students with the use of webquest. Teachers/students can use blog as a portfolio of major projects or assignments that they have completed and accomplish. Teachers can produce a movie out of one the activities where students had to do a play, skit, dance show, puppet show, and etc… and have them watch themselves as how they work cooperatively as a group/tribe. They could also use technology to create their own personal timeline of their life. We could create worksheets/assignments for students.

Weebly Commerical using OneTrue Media

For our final exam, we had to create a educational commerical to present withins our classroom using one of the media sites. As a group we decided to do a commerical advertising weebly as one of the greatest online site to use as a professional resume or portfolio. I was awesome experience developing a commerical. We had lots of fun acting out for our commerical. As a group, we decided to use onetrue media since it was able to upload video clips and pictures. The site was straight forward and easy to use and follow; however, there is a catch to it in order for us to use the editing features we need to sign up as a member and pay a fee and uploading photos took long. Other than that it was fun and awesome to experience. I would use this in my classroom; if my students were doing a play, puppet show, skit, or a dance I would use one of the free media sites to produce a movie out of their activity.

My Professional Portfolio~Weebly

1. What was the assignment?

The assignment given to us was to create a professional resume of ourself using weebly.com. We had to create 7 pages that included home (introduction about ourself), experience, education, skills/rewards, hobbies and interest, references, and blog

2. What did you like or dislike about the assisgnment or about the weebly software.

Well, I really enjoyed the assisgnment and the weebly software was awesome as well. The assisgnment is an advantage for us because it represents a resume that could be updated at any time. No more resume papers to type out; all we need to do is give away our weebly address which is great. It is easy to use with different designs that goes along with it. It was an excellent experience working with the weebly software.

3. How would you compare and contrast weebly with a blog?

Weebly and Blog are both software's that could be use for anyone to create a resume of their own. Blog is easy to use and upload slideshow's, pictures with text just the same as weebly. However with weebly all you need to do is click on the picture and drag it to the page. Weebly are able to create pages to organize according to categories.

4. How would you use this as an educator in the future?

I would use this as my resume of employment instead typing out a resume paper. This saves time and money no more paper and ink wasted. We are going green meaning saving the tree's.
